Theoretical Foundation of Intermodal Expressive Arts

This online Module enhances the understanding of processes of change specifically with respect to the artistic process in the context of health and illness, human development and foundational concepts and theories relevant for the field of intermodal Expressive Arts.
Within a sequential design, the module content unfolds in thematic units providing a thorough grounding into phenomenological and psychological principles from interdisciplinary perspectives. The coursework delivers specialized knowledge to strengthen and advance the theoretical understanding and professional practice.
This Module offers thematic units focusing on:
• Concepts of Arts and the Arts in Healing
• Embodiment in Psychology & Philosophy/Somatics
• Developmental Theories throughout the Lifespan
• Phenomenological Process Diagnostic
• Trauma informed arts-based Practices
Duration: 9 monthly seminars from September until May. Synchronous 3,5 hours through ZOOM and asynchronous tasks, readings and assignments.
